About the Lamborghini Huracan
What once began as a tractor manufacturer and, according to legend, emerged from a dispute between Ferruccio Lamborghini and Enzo Ferrari over a 250 GT, has become a world-renowned brand that stands for unusualness, power, speed and passion. Models such as the Diablo and Gallardo broke records and created fascination in the automotive industry and among fans.
The name of the most successful model to date, the Gallardo, goes back to the fighting bull breeder Francis Gallardo. One of the 5 main breeding breeds (Cabrera, Miura, Navarra, Vazquena, Gallardo) was also named after him. In the entire production period from 2003 to 2013, 14022 units were manufactured, which is why the Gallardo is considered the most commercially successful and also the cheapest Lamborghini at €160,000.
The Gallardo was delivered as a 5-litre V10 with 500 hp, powered by a rear-wheel drive system. The aluminium body was manufactured by Thyssen Krupp in Heilbronn, painted at the Audi plant in Neckarsulm and assembled in Sant’Agata.
The current bull is also more than convincing:
Huracán was a fighting bull of the “Conte de la Patilla” breed that won over the public in Alicante in 1879 with its fiery and challenging nature.
The direct successor to the Gallardo impresses with its sharp-edged and combative appearance. At first glance, the design looks like a more inconspicuous version of its big brother, the Aventador, but it has no need to hide behind it.
The “base model” LP 610-4 starts with a 5.2 litre V10 with 610 hp. It reaches a top speed of 325 km/h. With all-wheel drive and Lamborghini’s own LDF dual-clutch gearbox, the Italian work of art storms to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds. Incidentally, everything is shown on a 12.3-inch TFT display, which was designed for the Huracán and is also installed in the new Audi TT. The ANIMA driving mode system is operated from the steering wheel and allows the driver to select the Strada, Sport and Corsa driving modes. Strada is selected for a driving style that is easy on the discs, Sport for ambitious drivers and Corsa for the crazy ones. Each mode has a different effect on the engine, transmission and chassis.
