About the Lamborghini Urus

What once began as a tractor manufacturer and, according to legend, emerged from a dispute between Ferruccio Lamborghini and Enzo Ferrari over a 250 GT, has become a world-renowned brand that stands for unusualness, power, speed and passion. Models such as the Diablo and Gallardo have broken records and created fascination in the automotive industry and among fans.

The name of the most successful model to date, the Gallardo, goes back to the fighting bull breeder Francis Gallardo. One of the 5 main breeding breeds was also named after him (Cabrera, Miura, Navarra, Vazquena, Gallardo). In the entire production period from 2003 to 2013, 14022 units were manufactured, which is why the Gallardo is considered the most commercially successful and also the cheapest Lamborghini at €160,000.

The Gallardo was delivered as a 5-liter V10 with 500 hp, powered by a rear-wheel drive. The aluminum body was manufactured by Thyssen Krupp in Heilbronn, painted at the Audi plant in Neckarsulm and assembled in Sant’Agata.

The Lamborghini Urus is the SUV among the bulls and thus also the first super sports utility vehicle worldwide. With the Urus, Lamborghini has managed to create the perfect combination of a sports car and an SUV.

The “base model” starts with a 4 liter V8 engine with 650 hp. It reaches a top speed of 305 km/h. With all-wheel drive and Lamborghini’s own LDF dual-clutch gearbox, the Italian work of art storms to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. Incidentally, everything is displayed on three TFT displays designed for the Urus. The ANIMA driving mode system is operated from the steering wheel and allows the driver to select the Strada, Sport and Corsa driving modes. Strada is selected for a driving style that is easy on the spinal discs, Sport for ambitious drivers and Corsa for the crazy ones. Each mode has a different effect on the engine, transmission and chassis.
