Audi sports car: four rings for a hallelujah

Audi is one of the most successful German premium manufacturers for years. And not without reason: High-quality factories, constant new technological innovations, and the know-how of design to inspire Audi’s customers over again.

The brand with distinctive four rings manufactures well-known sedans, station wagons, and SUVs. But it can not resist athleticism: The model portfolio now includes many Audi sports cars and is being continuously and purposefully expanded.

The sports cars from Audi in detail

The Audi R8

With the R8, Audi attempted in 2007 to completely re-establish the world of exclusive sports cars that had previously been dominated by Porsche, Ferrari & Co. There was a possibility to redraw this car from drawing without taking into account old conventions. And the result is more than sensational. An aggressive, futuristic design combines the passions of exotic Italian with the cool German engineering of Audi.

Alternatives of the Audi R8

The top Audi sports car model is available both as a closed R8 Coupé and an open R8 Spyder.  Audi currently only offers the R8 V10 and is available with both V8 and V10 engines. The entry-level model is the Audi R8 V10, the top model of the Audi R8 V10 performance. The Audi R8 V10 RWS is equipped with a rear-wheel-drive – instead of the otherwise mandatory all-wheel drive. A model specially optimized for the racetrack was the Audi R8 GT.

Its design, which is still absolutely timeless today, was successful. Even today, the TT stands for a light, agile, and affordable sports car with suitability for everyday use. The Audi TT still offers entrance into the world of Audi sports cars.

The entry-level model of Audi sports cars is available both as a closed TT Coupé or an open TT Roadster. The Audi RS models

Even if an Audi sports car is understood to be an agile two-seater in the usual sense, the vehicles specially developed by Audi Sport GmbH now represent serious competition on the car market. The principle is always the same:  tested large-scale models are both in terms of performance and brought to a whole new level by the remaining components such as the chassis, brakes, and exterior. The result is Audi models that are perfectly suitable for everyday use, which have real sports car performance.

Alternatives of the Audi RS models

In the meantime, almost every current Audi model series is available as an RS model: in the sedan segment, starting with the Audi RS3, through the mid-range RS4 and RS5 vehicles to the fastest Avant, the Audi RS6 and the Audi RS7 coupé sedan. The Ingolstadt-based SUVs have also recently become available as RS models and are named RSQ3 and RSQ8. Besides, the RS models are not manufactured in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, as usual, but particularly at Audi Sport in Neckarsulm, Baden-Württemberg.

How can I drive an Audi sports car?

There are various ways you can enjoy sitting behind the wheel of an Audi sports car. In the end, of course, this is primarily a question of budget.

Buy new cars

The sports cars from Audi are all available as new cars. In addition to buying from the nearest Audi dealership, leasing websites have also established themselves here. Purchase of a new vehicle is the most expensive option, but it also has its advantages. First, you get your Audi in exactly the configuration you want. Second, the car has the full manufacturer’s guarantee. Finally, the condition is flawless.

Buying a used sports car

The market for used Audi sports cars is extensive, and the range of corresponding sellers is just as huge: Whether directly from the Audi dealership, from an exclusive sports car dealer, from a used car dealer, corresponding online portal, or from a private source – the decision is entirely up to the buyer. Buying a used sports car naturally also has the advantage that you can also purchase older, no longer manufactured model series, such as the first-generation Audi R8.

Rent an Audi sports car

One alternative that has become very popular in recent years is renting a sports car. It has several advantages: You don’t have to spend a stroke of luck to drive your dream car. All costs are already included in the rental price. You can change vehicles with complete flexibility if you feel like doing a new one. And you don’t have any annoying monthly costs that burden you even when financially a little tight.
