About McLaren

McLaren Automotives Ltd was formed in 1989 from McLaren Racing, making it a fairly young automotive company.

Since McLaren – apart from individual cooperations such as the F1 GTR with BMW or the SLR with Mercedes – built only motor sports vehicles for several years, the model portfolio is still manageable and above all young.

It all began in 2011 with the McLaren MP4-12C – which also forms the technical basis for all subsequent vehicles and shares not only the unique carbon-fiber monocoque but also its fabulous 3.8-liter biturbo V8. A little later, the 12C was “facelifted” to the McLaren 650S and the 570S was launched as an “entry-level model”, which actually does not deserve this name, as even this version makes quite a few competitors look old in terms of performance…

At the top of the model range are the McLaren 675LT, the 720S and, as the absolute crowning glory, the hypersports McLaren P1 with around 1,000 hp!
